ST. INIGOES, MD. — Two men that police say arrived at a home on Chisleytown Road in St. Inigoes in October, to purportedly make a purchase allegedly assaulted and robbed the victim before beating feet. Both have now been arrested but are unlikely to remain behind bars for long.

St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on October 14, 2017, at approximately 10:02 PM, deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded for a report of an assault involving two male suspects.

Police say that two suspects arrived at the victim’s residence, under the pretense of purchasing an item from the victim.

Instead of getting their cash out of their wallets to conclude the transaction, police say that the victim was assaulted by the two thugs and robbed of unspecified property.

Police say the robbers then fled the scene on foot.

While responding to the scene, DFC. Tirpak located the two suspects in the roadway; one fled on foot, and the other, Jonathan Lee Lynch, 20, of 48251 Hillside Drive, Lexington Park, Md., was arrested and charged with Robbery, Assault, Theft, and Malicious Destruction of Property. The second suspect was identified, perhaps due to Lynch trying to mitigate his own charges by turning in his partner in crime, or perhaps due to cell phone records that were part of the intended transaction.

Lynch has been provided the free services of public defender Matthew Connell, courtesy of the taxpayers of Maryland. Bubba is waiting for Lynch. Weighing in at only 125 pounds and 5’8” tall, Lynch might want to think about hiring a skilled defense attorney such as The Gunslinger Lawyer, Kevin J. McDevitt, of Leonardtown. Lynch was released on an unsecured $10,000.00 bond on Oct. 15, 2017, thus he can continue in a career of crime to come up with the funds to hire a good attorney to defend him in St. Mary’s Circuit Court on the serious felony charge of robbery.

Police say that the victim sustained minor injuries during the incident that did not require medical attention.

Police say that the second suspect was identified as Michael Ryan Norfolk, 28, of 46425 Sue Drive, Lexington Park, Md. On December 14, 2017, Norfolk was located and arrested by Detective Tirpak on charges of robbery, second-degree assault, and theft under $1,500.00. Norfolk was jailed pending a bail hearing with a bond of only $5,000 set.

While St. Mary’s Deputies were trying to identify and locate Norfolk as the second suspect in the robbery, Norfolk was arrested on Nov. 10, 2017, by Deputy Potter on charges of 4th-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, possession of drugs other than marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and burglary tools. Norfolk won’t have to spend his own alleged ill-gotten funds as Gina M. Fioravanti is representing him with the taxpayer’s picking up the tab. Court records show that you get what you pay for when on Nov. 10, 2017, Norfolk went to jail on a temporary commitment due to his attorney failing to appear in court promptly. The attorney appeared the following day.

A charge of assaulting a jail guard in the Hotel St. Mary’s while he was a guest of the taxpayers, ended with the charge being dumped by St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz on Nov. 13, 2014, which proves that 13 sometimes is a lucky number for some criminals.

Norfolk entered a guilty plea on Sept. 4, 2014, to a charge of malicious property destruction in a plea deal with Fritz. THE DEAL: in return for the guilty plea, five other criminal charges of assault, resisting arrest, and three counts of burglary were dropped and Norfolk was sentenced to 60 days in jail, with credit given for time served of 60 days.

Norfolk entered into a plea deal with Fritz on Sept. 4, 2014, on a charge of false imprisonment and was given a year in jail. He was given credit for 96 days of time served and probation for two years. An assault charge was put on the Stet Docket as part of the deal. Once again, Norfolk had a free attorney, this time, Eric Owen Sullivan.

Nabbed by St. Mary’s Deputy Croyle on May 21, 2009, for DUI as he drove a 1997 Dodge south on Rt. 235 just south of Lexington Park, Md., Norfolk entered a guilty plea on Dec. 22, 2010. THE DEAL: Norfolk was sentenced to 60 days in jail and in the Fritz Judicial Wonderland of Prizes and Penalties, 59 days were suspended. Two years of probation and a fine of $450 were added to the deal.

A domestic violence order was placed against Norfolk on Aug. 21, 2007, by a District Court Judge for St. Mary’s County.
