It’s very exciting to see myself and so many of my new friends in the Globe and Mail today (B5). Congratulations to all my classmates in the ICD-Rotmans Directors Education Program cohort 108! With their incredible faculty and teachers we’ve learned how to apply good governence practices while dealing with powerful CEO’s, avoiding group think and the importance of social media in a crisis. Corporate board governance is ever evolving in this world of AI, cybersecurity, social media and ESG. I feel we are well prepared for these challenges now. Thank you Alexander Dyck for leading us! Good luck everyone on your future boards!Dominique Anglade , Brian Boucher, Carrie Anne Beltzner, ACCUD, Alison Breen, Aurelio Calabretta, CPA, CMA, Ron Cuthbertson, Jay Hamilton, Christopher Gimpel, Kelly Gillis, Styve Dumouchel, Mike Dufton, Harold Holloway, Alana M., David Minas, CPA, CA, Mark Moore, CPA, CA , Hersh Joshi , Rex Lee, MBA, Adam Morrison, Nancy Nazer, Ph.D., Tobias (Tobi) Nussbaum, Susan Rohac, Rashaad Vahed, Catherine Swindlehurst, Nadiya Sunderji, Arne Wohlschlegel, Tolga Yalkin

On Friday I said farewell to my friends and colleagues at Mohawk College. Just over five years ago I joined Mohawk to start the VR academic program with Tracey Kadish . I had the opportunity to teach students product management, VR, project management in supply chains, intro to programming and even a semester of software applications in HR. Just as the pandemic started, I moved into the Director role with the objective to define the digital learning strategy that would help us align on the intentional digital evolution of teaching and learning. This initiative is one of my proudest accomplishments of my career. With my colleague Erin Cameron we realigned our teams to deliver supports to both students and faculty within the Centre for Teaching & Learning Innovation. With Richard Mader we expanded student digital skills services to include a Makerspace and a high-end computer hub. Brian Gould lead our team of instructional design ensuring students would have a cohesive experience throughout a program; online or hybrid. And with Jaclyn Nelson MSc., DASM leading our XR innovation team, we accomplished so much. To my tech team who made integrations happen easily @jason ross, Alex Gellert and @sheldon Golini. I’m excited to see how these teams continue to push boundaries and evolve. Thank you to the entire Academic Tech team for believing in my vision and helping us achieve our goals! Many thanks to my many mentors and friends Janet Shuh, Ph.D. , Wendy Lawson, Katherine Shirton, Walter Dovigo and many more. I’m taking the rest of April off before starting my next role!
