My TOXIC trait 🚩 As a student and a self diagnosed high achiever 😅, I attach my scores to my sense of self, sense of worth and capability. This can more often than not, see me spending hours studying for exams, going over and above to make sure the knowledge sticks, crying into my blanket because I don’t ‘feel’ I am understanding or obsorbing the information. I know this is wrong, I am working HARD to rewire my mind & stop attaching labels with my own self. This is also a crucially important thing for me to overcome for when our business hires and I am in a more leadership position. The thing is 9/10 times I punish myself when it is completely unnecessary and illogical. For example, I had a progress exam check to do and spent all day yesterday in a downward spiral as I pressed submit and heard those four words enter my mind - You’ve not done enough. Now, logically, having known the hours invested into revision and application, that phrase just doesn’t compute. And logic was right, a whopping 97% achieved ✅ I am now spending my afternoon making sure I am more kinder to myself. 🫶The positive thing in relation to my toxic trait, is the fact I can acknowledge it. I can name it, I can explain what it does when/ where and why. We all have toxic traits. We are all human. The important thing is to remain curious about it, understand it, explore it and then learn to control it. #toxictrait #understandingthesubconsciousmind #controlyourmind

F.A.I.L.U.R.E 😖 A seven letter word we sometimes attach to situations that make us have to restart, renavigate or renew ourselves. A common reason for seeking change. However, this phrase is normally recognised as a negative, which sees us apply emotion to it and may even disrupt our efforts to implement change. Failure doesnt HAVE to be recognised as negative. There is sooo much to be learned in our 'Failures'. When I think of failure now, I think of an oppertunity to adapt and have now even designed a mnenomic to restructure Failure into a postive and helps me prepare for the next course of action 📈 : Forecasting for Future 🔮 Align Goals & Targets 🎯 Implement Processes for Change 💫 Leverage existing skill sets ✅ Uphold to our core values 🍎 Realigin Our Strategy 🚀 Expect & Prepare for resistance 🌊 I'll also let you into a little secret. Hello 😊 Wow, it’s August Already! 🗓️ It’s been a busy few months for myself and NOEXSPENCE and with having some new connections, I thought it only polite I re-introduce myself. 👋 My Name is Julie Spence and I own my own #DigitalBookkeeping Firm NOEXSPENCE 💙. The name is a little tribute for my father. I have over 8 years experience in industry and just under three years in practice. I am a fully licensed & qualified AAT Bookkeeper. I am a high school drop out *Que Grease Beauty School drop out music* 🎶 I returned to academia at the end of 2020 and studied a Bussiness Management Access Course with The Open University where I feel in love with and found my passion for #Accountancy. It was then my journey with AAT started by gaining experience in a practice environment whilst studying. I see the pain points small business owners experience and the value our knowledge of accountancy can bring to their businesses. I also knew business owners are people too with personal goals and circ*mstances. Massive THANK YOU to Business Gateway 🥹We finally where accepted for GCC BUSINESS START UP GRANT which finally allowed us to invest into proper equipment to run our little digital business from 🚀 After spending 10months working in my spare room utilising a decaying desk and my mothers old computer chair, this was a looong over due investment. For someone who spends anything between 40-60 hours a week at my desk it was crucial I had something that could support my back and posture. A nice touch that our new computer chair even reclines and massages & our desk elevates allowing me to get the blood circulating throughout the day 😀 💆♀️ #smallbusinessgrant #digitalfirm #bookkeeping
